Santa Claus is coming to town and will be here this Sunday for the Toronto Santa Claus Parade.
For more than 100 years, jolly, old St. Nick has delighting kids of all ages and this year will be full of the same magic.
The parade will feature 24 floats, 20 marching bands and scores of clowns.
It all starts at Christie Pits at 12:30 p.m.
A special addition to this year?s edition is a Grey Cup float. The parade is a part of the Grey Cup Festival that is on all week in Toronto leading up to the playing of the 100th Grey Cup game next Sunday at Rogers Centre.
The parade is expected to last around two and a half hours and will take place regardless of weather conditions ? but luckily the forecast calls for partly sunny skies and 9C.
Police will start towing vehicles along the parade route on Sunday at 6 a.m. and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
GO Transit and the TTC will have extra service on their lines to help get the more than one million spectators to the parade.
For more information go to gotransit.ca or www.ttc.ca.
You can your memory of past Santa Claus arrivals on the parade?s website ? thesantaclausparade.ca.
?I remember being on my dad?s shoulders for the best view, everyone in the family drinking hot chocolate while light snow fell....magical!!? recalled Shannon, 36, of Burlington.
As usual, there will be a Santa Cam on the back of Santa?s sleigh taking pictures of the crowds and people can download their picture from the website as well.
Volunteers will be selling Red Noses for $2 and the proceeds go to the parade and Jumpstart, a charity for children?s sports.
