Two 'extinct' trees rediscovered in Africa

Two tree species once feared extinct have been discovered in a threatened coastal forest in the African country of Tanzania. The two species have made reappearances before, but both trees, one a legume, the other a member of the mint family, were thought to have finally been obliterated in recent years.

Botantists rediscovered the trees in the southeastern African nation in 2011. The country has offered up another, perhaps more striking, discovery in recent months: a colorful new snake species.

"Both trees are still in critical danger of extinction, given that fewer than 50 individuals of each species are known," Roy Gereau, a botanist with the Missouri Botanical Garden's Africa and Madagascar Department, said in a statement.

The species, Erythrina schliebenii, a type of coral tree, has spectacular red flowers and vicious spines along its trunk. The tree was collected only twice, in the 1930s, from an area later cleared for a cashew plantation.

It was listed as "Extinct" on the IUCN Red List in 1998, but was rediscovered in a small patch of unprotected forest in 2001. When that forest was cleared for a biofuel plantation in 2008, it was again feared the thorny tree had gone extinct.

The other tree species, Karomia gigas, was known from only a single specimen cut down a few years after it was first discovered in coastal Kenya in 1977.

Another specimen was discovered in 1993 nearly 400 miles (600 kilometers) away in a tiny fragment of forest in Tanzania, but a more recent search at the same site didn't uncover any of the trees.

Last year, botanists from Tanzania's University of Dar es Salaam set out to look for both species, and discovered small populations of both trees in a remote coastal forest in southeastern Tanzania.

There are indications that recent improvements in infrastructure, together with a rapid population increase, are putting the coastal forests of the region under increasing threats from degradation and clearing.

Vehicle Financing After Bankruptcy | Best Financial and Real Estate ...

Vehicle Financing After Bankruptcy

When people hit bankruptcy, they hit bottom. Bankruptcy is the state of having been legally declared bankrupt, meaning they lack the resources to pay their debts. But when they are in the state of bankruptcy, the one thing left for them to do is rise above it. Bankruptcy can be both stressful and devastating. But they should not give up just because of that. They can always get back on their own two feet and rebuild their financial status. They can still drive that dream car of theirs. So they may ask: Is getting a vehicle financing after bankruptcy even possible? Will lenders in their right state of mind grant a vehicle financing after bankruptcy?

Yes, it is possible. There are lenders offering vehicle financing after bankruptcy so they can still buy themselves a car. These lenders are desperately more than willing to give them vehicle financing after bankruptcy and then they just pay back on an agreed period of time, just like any other borrower.

They only have to be courageous enough to try their luck and actually apply for a vehicle financing after bankruptcy. To apply for one, they need to get in touch with a considerate lender. They can do this from the comforts of their homes and submit an application online. Their financial situation along with other basic mandatory requirements will still be evaluated to get them qualified.

With just a couple of steps, they probably wouldn?t have thought that vehicle financing after bankruptcy can be easy and doable. Well, the truth is, a lot of lenders are open to grant vehicle financing after bankruptcy and even car dealers are open to selling to people going through a bankruptcy.

There are certain limitations though for vehicle financing after bankruptcy. The more conservative the amount they?d be applying for, the better chances they have for Vehicle financing after bankruptcy.

Also, during their application to a vehicle financing after bankruptcy, it is necessary that they divulge to their lender in all honesty the reason why they?ve gone bankrupt. They are more likely to be given that vehicle financing after bankruptcy if their circumstances were beyond their control rather than those reasons they could have done something about.

Once they get their vehicle financing after bankruptcy, they should contain themselves and avoid being overly excited. Before they rush to the nearest auto shop and spend what they got, they should think first of what they need and not what they want. After bankruptcy, their credit record is never good and splurging at the first opportunity to do so would not do them any good either.

And, if they got bad credit issues too, interest could reach as high as twenty percent (20%) for their vehicle financing. So for now, they should go buy that not-so expensive car in good working condition and have their dream car once they are back to the normalcy of their financial state.

Rivaflowz.com: Relationships: Unmasking Love

I don?t think I?ve ever farted in front of my significant other. In fact, I?m pretty sure I did I super cartwheel out of bed, over the bed bench and baseball slide out of the bedroom door just to do it. I?ve bucked a toe or two with these fast moves. Hurts like hell.

When my boyfriend and I first started dating, I wouldn?t even let him see my morning face. He?d wake up to a clean mouth, astringent-cleaned face and a spritz of Victoria Secret.

I?d followed a friend?s advice: ?For the first three months, you never let him catch you slipping girl. Don?t let him wake up to morning breath, keep the sweats in the drawer and keep that lip gloss on deck!? For a tomboy with a vast sneaker collection, three pairs of heels and one lip gloss to her name; I was devastated. Keeping up these shenanigans for three months was going to be madness. Then it hit me. Wouldn?t he discover ?true me? after three months? Would he stick around then? If he?s going to leave, why should I stop him now? My friend is a fool. Love her to death, but trying to maintain and play these cat and mouse games to win over someone who?s already won, is wack. This beckons the question: At what point of the relationship, do we stop wearing our masks? If I backtrack through my union, I remember the exact point that I did. We met up with some friends at a beer garden in Long Island City for some fun. I?m still quite the inexperienced drinker; I mixed a Long Island Iced Tea with two beers. It wasn?t the greatest idea. Halfway back to the car, I stumbled over a few sidewalk cracks before I realized that my ?Oops my bad? had a slur. My new boyfriend laughed and giggled, even when I sat on a random brownstone steps, folded my arms and grimaced at him. ?What?s so funny?? I asked him. He smiled. ?You are. I?ve never seen you without inhibition.? At that moment all I could think about was prohibition. I grabbed hold of his arm, pulled it in the direction of the car and started to walk again. That night I threw up approximately three times and sprawled across the white sheets like a drunken snow angel. When I woke up the next morning, still a little hazy, he wasn?t beside me. I tiptoed to the living room where I found him, awake on the couch, grinning up at me. ?Drunk girlfriend! I see you?re awake. Sorry, there was no room on the bed for me.? I laughed and sat down beside him. For the first time, we spent the morning together; no make-up, last night?s clothes, morning breath and all. As the sun peeked through the blinds of the living room, he pinched my nose and said, ?Breakfast?? Why I didn?t do this earlier? A great weight was lifted off of my shoulder. During the next few months he?d find out about my sneaker collection and push me to wear them, he?d tell me that he loved my face pre-makeup and that my bad-hair-day hat was cute. This post is for all the girls who are obsessed with matching bra?s and panties, chipped nail polish and that little red dress. It?s for all the women who pretend they don?t have a past in order to keep their future. This is for the Sydney Shaws (Brown Sugar) who are awkward and clumsy and want nothing more than their best friends to fall in love with them.

If he doesn't love you for you now, he won't later on.

Our boyfriends should be our best friends: The people we aren?t afraid to show our flaws to, the person who has seen us at our best and our worst and the man who?ll deny you of your mask. Through play fights, my Ciara impersonation in the mirror and my ridiculously loud laugh at the movie theatres; I?ve learned that I?m loved for me. What was/is your mask? Are you still wearing it?

Are you planning retirement living in Ontario?

Senior couples need to take care of their health because health starts falling as age advances. The first sign of falling health is stiffness in body muscles, weakening eyesight, difficulty in hearing and memory loss. But there is nothing to worry as you can take care of your health and lead a healthy life by doing plenty of physical and mental activities like walking, biking, swimming, golfing and reading. If you are thinking that it is difficult to get this much facility at regular residential colonies then you are right. You need to relocate to an independent living community like many Ontario residents are doing. Many senior citizens of Ontario are enjoying a happy retirement living in Ontario.

An independent living community provides everything that is required for living an active life and this you can see by visiting a community close to your home.

If you are living in Ontario then you would be delighted to know that there are many communities in your province and you can find these communities on the web. Just use Google and find an independent living community close to your city. Visit that community and see the facilities available for residents. If you find the facilities impressive then you can plan retirement living in Ontario.

After retiring from work, you would have plenty of time and you can use that time to maintain your physical and mental health. Seniors who stay at home do nothing in terms of physical activity as they get everything at home. Depending on your children for doing things that you can do on your own would only make you lazy and obese. The advancing age would affect the functionality of your vital organs and doing nothing would only aggravate the matter and reduce your lifespan.

Ideally you should plan your living after retiring from work. For an active post retirement living in Ontario, you can relocate to an independent living community.

Seniors staying in independent living communities take advantage of plenty of outdoor activities including golfing, swimming, walking, biking, reading, writing and much more. The independent living communities offer plenty of space for rest and relaxation. The good thing about these communities is that they allow only seniors to become their residents. Seniors staying in these communities live with like minded people and have a great time. You can also plan your retirement living in Ontario according to your requirements.

Verizon's Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX to get Android 4.0 on April 4th, Rezound to follow on the 6th

Color us surprised to find that Best Buy is so deeply entwined with carrier / OEM plans that it would actually receive a notification that Ice Cream Sandwich is coming to select handsets, but we guess it makes sense to notify those hard-working BB Mobile representatives to what's coming down the pike. Both Android Police and TechnoBuffalo have received separate leaks confirming the news, suggesting that April 4th will be the day that the Motorola Droid RAZR and RAZR MAXX get a taste of Android 4.0, and that April 6th will bring the update to HTC's Rezound. Hard to say how the rollout will be staged, but if you're considering one of Verizon's fastest and finest, at least you know when ICS is coming.

Whitney Houston's Death Left Jordin Sparks In 'Shock'

'American Idol' alum talks to Entertainment Weekly about working with the late legend on their upcoming movie 'Sparkle.'

Many people will remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news of Whitney Houston's untimely death in February. And while everyone's experience was memorable in some way, the story of Houston's "Sparkle" co-star Jordin Sparks hearing the news is especially poignant.

The season-six "American Idol" winner was in a L.A. hotel room getting ready to meet Houston at the Beverly Hilton and attend Clive Davis' annual pre-Grammy bash when her publicist knocked on her door.

"She said, 'Whitney's gone,' " Sparks told Entertainment Weekly. "I said, 'What do you mean? She's not going to the party?' She said, 'No, she passed.' It was like a movie when you see somebody and they're just shocked and can't move. I literally couldn't say anything. I couldn't feel anything. It was a complete shock. I was just holed up in my hotel room for a few days after that.

"I didn't know her for very long, but it was an intense two months: 12 hours every day spending time with somebody," Sparks recalled. "It was amazing to walk into work and then Whitney is sitting in her chair blasting gospel music and singing. I'm thinking to myself, 'People would give their right arm to just hear some of this. And it's happening every day.' She was really, really great."

"Sparkle" is a remake of the 1976 Irene Cara film about three talented young musicians who struggle with addiction. The new version features the 2007 "American Idol" winner as the titular character Sparkle and Houston, who also served as executive producer after acquiring the rights to the film more than a decade ago, as her mother, Emma.

"It was definitely her baby," Sparks said of Houston's attachment to the project. "You could see the pride on her face when we wrapped. She was so excited that this was finally happening. Even before she passed I wanted to be able to represent this movie in a way that would honor her and respect her, because she worked so hard on it. With her passing, it's definitely been a lot more pressure. We'll see how it goes. I'm sure there will be interviews where it will hit me and I might get emotional, and there's going to be other interviews where I reminisce about how happy and excited she was. I'm really proud of the film. I can't wait for people to see it."

"Sparkle" is scheduled to be released by Sony on August 17.

Check out everything we've got on "Sparkle."

George Zimmerman's dad says Travyon told his son, 'You're gonna die now'

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell shows newly tape of what Zimmerman's father says his son told him about the final moments before George Zimmerman killed him. Benjamin Crump, the head attorney for Trayvon Martin's family, and Natalie Jackson, co-counsel for the Martin family, share their reaction on The Last Word.

By msnbc.com staff

On FOX Orlando Wednesday evening, Robert Zimmerman, the father of the man who fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, said his son was the victim. He said that Martin told George Zimmerman, "You're gonna die now, or you're gonna die tonight."

?George was going to the store, and he saw someone in his community that he did not recognize as living there,? Robert Zimmerman, a retired judge, said. ??Because there had been a lot of break-ins in the area, he thought that was suspicious that someone would not be walking on the street or the sidewalk, but they'd be walking right behind the townhomes.?

Robert Zimmerman said that his son, George Zimmerman, 28, then called a non-emergency number to report this stranger. He lost sight of the teen as he looked for an address to report to police, Robert Zimmerman told the FOX affiliate.

?It?s my understanding that at that point Trayvon Martin walked up to him, asked him, ?Do you have a ? beep ? problem?? George said ?No, I don?t have a problem?.?

The elder Zimmerman said that as his son started to reach for his cell phone, Martin, 17, punched him in the nose, knocking the larger man to the pavement. ?

?Trayvon Martin got on top of him and just started beating him, in the face, in his nose, hitting his head on the concrete,? Robert Zimmerman said.

That?s when Martin spotted George Zimmerman?s gun, Robert Zimmerman said.

?Trayvon Martin said something to the effect of, ?You're gonna die now,? or ?You're gonna die tonight,? something to that effect.?

When the interviewer asked about Martin?s girlfriend, who said that he told her that he was being followed, Robert Zimmerman said he didn?t believe her.

He replied: ?I don't believe she was on the phone with him, and I find it very strange with the publicity involved with this that all of the sudden, after three weeks, someone would remember that they were on the phone. I believe the FBI and others investigating this will find that that did not happen.?

Trayvon Martin was shot in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and more witnesses are coming forward to describe what they saw. A 13-year-old who saw the shooting described seeing a man screaming on the ground before the gun went off. Cheryl Brown, the mother of the eyewitness, and attorney Alisia Adamson join Politics Nation.

The family of a 13-year-old witness told Al Sharpton Thursday morning a different perspective. Although he did not witness the shooting, he heard it and said that he heard crying and that when the gun went off, the whining ceased.

Zimmerman, a self-declared neighborhood watch volunteer, fatally shot Martin on Feb. 26 in what he called an act of self-defense. Within weeks, the story started drawing nationwide attention and Sanford, Fla. Police were accused of bungling the investigation for not arresting Zimmerman. ?

Zimmerman, meantime, is in hiding. His father told FOX Orlando that he is not doing well.

Kansas forward Thomas Robinson has even more in common with Blake Griffin now. Not everything, though.

Robinson, who played through personal tragedy as a sophomore reserve, capped his junior season by being a unanimous selection to The Associated Press' All-America team Monday, a day after leading the Jayhawks to the Final Four.

The 6-foot-10 Robinson averaged 17.9 points and 11.8 rebounds this season and he was a first-team pick by all 65 members of the national media panel that selects the weekly Top 25.

The last unanimous pick was Griffin in 2009.

"It's a blessing to be named even in the same category as Blake Griffin," Robinson said. "For that to happen, I'm glad all the hard work is paying off."

Robinson did find some similarities between them besides being Big 12 Player of the Year.

"That man jumps out the gym. He looks like a superhero when he takes off," Robinson said. "But we both try to be aggressive. He knows what he does well. I feel the same way. I know what I do well."

Joining Robinson on the first team were Jared Sullinger of Ohio State, the first repeat All-America in three years, freshman Anthony Davis of Kentucky, Draymond Green of Michigan State and Doug McDermott of Creighton.

Davis received 63 first-team votes while Green, the lone senior on the team, got 53. Sullinger had 30, one more than McDermott. The voting was done before the NCAA tournament.

Robinson received nationwide support as a sophomore when he lost his mother, grandmother and grandfather in a three-week period. He not only became a starter this season, he became a star.

"It's an unbelievable honor for a kid that came as a semi-highly recruited guy, played seven minutes as a freshman, 10 minutes as a sophomore, endured the tragedies he's had and then somehow made so many sacrifices, not only for the betterment of himself but the betterment of all of us.," Kansas coach Bill Self said. "To be unanimous, it's just something that blows me away."

Robinson is Kansas' first All-America since Wayne Simien in 2005.

The 6-9 Sullinger, who was selected East Regional as he led the Buckeyes to the Final Four, is the first repeat All-America since North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough in 2009.

"It means a lot when your name is with Tyler Hansbrough, Psycho T. He was a great basketball player," Sullinger said with a big smile as he used Hansbrough's nickname. "It means a lot. I think it's a credit to my teammates."

Sullinger, the first player to repeat as a freshman and sophomore since Chris Jackson of LSU in 1989 and 1990, averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds while shooting 53.9 percent from the field. He is the fourth Ohio State player to repeat joining Jerry Lucas, Robin Freeman and Garry Bradds. Buckeyes coach Thad Matta said it's no surprise Sullinger has already sealed a place in the history of the program.

"I think that's one of what was important to us when Jared came here," Matta said. "We knew he was going to be a special player. And to see him get these accolades he has received and won at the level he's won at speaks volumes to the player he is and that select category and only being a sophomore let's you know what a great player he is."

Davis burst onto the national scene as part of the Wildcats team that spent most of the season ranked No. 1 in the poll and then entered the NCAA tournament as the overall No. 1 seed. The 6-10 Davis was chosen the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 14.3 points, 10 rebounds and 4.6 blocks while shooting 64.2 percent from the field.

The last Wildcats to be first-team selections were freshmen John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins in 2010. At least one freshman has been on the first team five of the last six years.

"It means a lot, especially for a freshman," Davis said before admitting he surprised himself this season. "I thought I would just come in here and hit a couple of shots, block a couple of shots, get a couple of dunks. I never thought I would be this successful in college."

He said he has been successful because of opportunities.

"My teammates have been doing a great job of giving me the ball," he said. "And basically, all the teams that were driving inside, giving me a chance to get blocks. We're just out there having fun."

The 6-7 Green averaged 16.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals while doing everything the Spartans needed on the way to sharing the Big Ten regular season title, winning the conference tournament and being a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

He is Michigan State's fourth first-team selection joining Magic Johnson, Shawn Respert and Mateen Cleaves.

"It's an honor because those are the guys who I looked up to, paved the way for me, starting with Magic and going to Respert and Cleaves," Green said. "Those guys, every time I walk into the gym I see their names up in the rafters and that's a goal that everyone has who's playing. Just being mentioned in the same sentence with those guys means a lot. All of them are winners, all of them are great players and all of them are successful and great people."

McDermott is Creighton's first All-America and he joins three-time selection Pete Maravich of LSU as All-Americas coached by their fathers.

The 6-7 sophomore was third in Division I in scoring with a 23.2 average. He averaged 8.2 rebounds and shot 61 percent from the field, including 49.5 percent from 3-point range.

"It's really special. It really hasn't hit me yet. Later down the road it will," McDermott said of his selection. "It's something real cool to be in the company of some of those names. Creighton never had one. It's really cool to be able to be the first, especially with all the great players who have been at Creighton over the years."

Coaching a son who is the star of the team did bring about a different problem for Greg McDermott.

"It could be a situation where if your son was a borderline player that your fans get upset if you put him in the game," he said. "Our fans get upset if I take him out."

Junior guard Isaiah Canaan of Murray State was joined on the second team by seniors Marcus Denmon of Missouri, Tyler Zeller of North Carolina, Jae Crowder of Marquette and Kevin Jones of West Virginia.

Sullinger was the only member of the preseason All-America team to make any of the postseason teams. Harrison Barnes of North Carolina, Jeremy Lamb of Connecticut and Jordan Taylor of Wisconsin were honorable mentions. Terrence Jones of Kentucky was the fifth member of the preseason team.

Picking Painless Plans For Improving Your Home by ...

Consider any home improvements you do as an investment in your home as it usually will increase your home?s value. Home improvements, as a means of increasing the value of a home, have spawned a complete industry of businesses that cater to the needs of the homeowner. House flipping is the name of this new industry and it has made many people very rich. To get started, familiarize yourself with the different classification of home improvement projects that you can choose from. A project that can help lower your utility bills is a good area place to start. One area that?s important to consider has to do with the safety of your home and any health issues that should be addressed. These two areas will be explored in this report.

It is important that your house have adequate drainage, and your yard must allow for that to happen. So this can be serious, but it takes time for the damage to occur.

Perhaps many people will simply avoid the expense of fixing water damaged basement walls, so it is your call. If you need help with this, then you can have a landscaper come out and take a look and make a recommendation. If the situation is bad enough, you could also dig a little and place a layer of rocks for drainage. Think about the dehumidifier operating in your basement, and learn more about this if you have never had one. These devices are excellent for removing moisture from the air, thus maintaining a nice dry atmosphere. Mold can be a serious problem in some areas, plus many people are allergic to it; that will not happen with a dry basement. Your basement?s ability to maintain a lower summertime temperature will be much greater, as well. If your basement is finished, then this type of climate control will keep your drywall and wood paneling in better condition. Pop over to www.pikavippiilmanluottotietoja.com for great facts.

It is nice to forget about the need to do some things, but ignoring your home is not one of them. What you should do every year is assess the integrity of any caulking that is in the home. Your windows are the locations where you will find the most caulk used. When caulk ages too much, it will begin to dry out and then break up a little bit. As caulk ages, it will certainly dry out, become brittle and begin chipping and breaking away. Re-doing your window caulk is one of the simplest home improvement jobs you can do, and it will not cost a lot, either.

Tons of good home improvement examples are all around your home, and just pay attention. There are so many things that work to degrade your big investment which is your house, and you have to do what is necessary. The good news about this is you can get what you want on a workable budget, too. We never recommend you negatively impact yourself through unreasonable debt, so be careful about that.

Nip over to this web-site for great suggestions? www.squidoo.com/buyplaystationvita and flexcin coupoons.

Taliban warn Pakistan lawmakers over NATO supplies

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan (AP) ? The Taliban on Sunday threatened to attack Pakistani lawmakers and their families if they support allowing NATO to resume shipping supplies through the country to troops in neighboring Afghanistan.

Pakistan closed its Afghan border crossings to NATO in November in retaliation for American airstrikes that accidentally killed 24 Pakistani soldiers. Pakistan's parliament is scheduled to begin debate Monday on a revised relationship with the U.S. that could lead to the border being reopened.

Pakistani Taliban spokesman Ahsanullah Ahsan accused Pakistani officials of acting like slaves for the U.S. and said allowing NATO supplies to resume would be "shameful and unacceptable."

"These parliamentarians must know that in such case, none of them will be safe in their homes," Ahsan told The Associated Press. "We will start attacking all the parliamentarians and their families."

Ahsan also said militants would "publicly slaughter" drivers ferrying NATO supplies.

The U.S. is eager to get the supplies moving again because it has had to spend much more money shipping goods by an alternative route that runs through Central Asia.

The supply line through Pakistan will also be key to trucking out equipment as the U.S. seeks to withdraw most of its combat forces from Afghanistan by the end of 2014.

Pakistan would also benefit from patching up relations because it needs U.S. assistance to help keep its struggling economy afloat. The U.S. has given Pakistan billions of dollars in aid since 2001 to enlist its support in fighting Islamist militants, but the relationship has been plagued by mistrust.

A Pakistani parliamentary commission tasked with proposing new guidelines for the relationship between the two countries last week demanded an end to American drone attacks and an apology for the airstrikes that killed Pakistani troops.

The commission also recommended that the Pakistani government charge NATO more for shipments through the country if it allows them to resume. The parliament is scheduled to begin debate on these points Monday.

Washington has expressed regret for the border incident but avoided a formal apology. U.S. officials were reportedly preparing to apologize last month but had to postpone the plan after U.S. soldiers burned copies of the Quran in Afghanistan. President Barack Obama apologized for that, bring criticism from political opponents.

High-level meetings between the two countries were mostly put on hold following the airstrikes, but lately they have started to pick up.

On Sunday, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari met with Marc Grossman, the U.S. special representative for Pakistan and Afghanistan, on the sidelines of a conference in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the U.S. said.

Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is scheduled to meet Obama during a meeting in Seoul, South Korea, on Tuesday.

The Pakistani army, and to a lesser extent the civilian government, will ultimately decide whether to restore ties with the U.S., but parliament could influence the decision. Analysts say placing the issue before lawmakers is an attempt to give the government and the army some political cover, so they can claim support of the country before quietly reopening the supply route.

Opposition lawmakers have indicated they may not back the proposed new terms with the U.S.

"If the government wants the parliament to provide guidance on certain issues and situations, then we are ready to, but the government has to convince us, because its track record regarding two previous resolutions proved to be very bad," Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the leader of the opposition in parliament, said Saturday.

Parliament passed a resolution last May recommending Pakistan cut off NATO supplies if the U.S. didn't stop drone strikes in the country. The missile attacks continued, as did the NATO supplies.

The drone strikes are unpopular among Pakistanis and have long been publicly opposed by the Pakistani army and government as a violation of the country's sovereignty. They also maintain that the attacks fan support for militancy even as they kill insurgents.

The issue is muddied by the fact that in private, the army has approved at least some of the strikes and provided intelligence on them, raising questions over whether they technically violate the sovereignty of the country. American officials rarely talk about the program in public.

Business And Finance ? Blog Archive ? Bad Credit Mortgage ...

Bad credit mortgage refinancing loans are used to solve two different problems.

Problem Number One: The homeowner has bad credit, significant high interest credit card debt and a home with substantial equity. In order to pay off the high interest bills, the person refinances his/her home and cashes out all or part of the equity. The cash from the equity is used to pay off the high interest obligations. Although the interest rate on the bad credit mortgage refinancing loan may be higher than that of a conventional loan, the house payment should still be less than the total of the high interest consumer debt.

A bad credit mortgage refinancing where the owner intents to use the cash from the home?s equity to pay off bills is called a debt consolidation loan. The value of the home being refinanced must have grown so that the home?s appraised worth will justify a larger loan. The new loan amount must be high enough that the owner can cover the loan?s closing costs and still have enough left over to pay off the credit card debt.

A bad credit mortgage refinancing such as this can have several advantages. The term of the loan will be longer. Since even a high interest subprime loan carries a lower interest rate than do high interest credit cards the new house payment will be smaller than the total of the old house payment and the consumer debt payments. However, choosing to refinance in this manner carries risks. If the homeowner does not change the behavior that led to the high debt, even more high interest credit card bills may be accumulated. Since the homeowner?s equity has already been ?cashed out? of his/her house the only alternative in a money crunch may be bankruptcy or foreclosure.

If a homeowner chooses a debt consolidation loan as the method of bad credit mortgage financing, it is imperative to use the cash received to pay off the accumulated debts. Credit counseling to keep from returning to poor credit practices should also be considered.

Problem Number Two: The homeowner had bad credit when the home was originally purchased and had to take out a high interest subprime mortgage loan at that time. Two or more years have passed since the loan was made during which time the homeowner has made all of the loan payments on time and has incurred no other bad credit. Now the time has arrived to refinance the loan and receive a better interest rate.

Even with two years of excellent credit history, a homeowner trying to refinance a bad credit mortgage may not be able to obtain a conventional low interest loan. The type of loan that can be attained will depend on a variety of factors such as current income and how much debt the homeowner has.

Refinancing a bad credit mortgage under these circumstances may be a good idea if the following two statements are true.

1. The new loan will carry an interest rate two or more percentage points lower than the current loan.

2. The homeowner plans to stay in the house for three or more years.
